1817 – the journal “Publications of the Observatory of Tartu” came out.

J. W. A. Pfaff published three astronomical collections of articles “Astronomische Beyträge” already in the years 1806-1807.

On the initiative of Wilhelm Struwe, in 1817 the “Publications of the Observatory of Tartu” began to appear. Under the title “Tartu Astrofüüsika Observatooriumi publikatsioonid” (“Publications of the Astrophysics Observatory of Tartu”) it was published until 1990 and at that time it was the oldest constantly published astronomical journal in the world.
