Jaan Pelt established the distance of the first known gravitational lens (double quasar) QSO 0957+561 using the time lag of the signals coming from the components. In the series of his work Jaan Pelt established that the time lag of the signals coming from the A, B components of the first known gravitational lens (double quasar) QSO 0957+561 was 417 days. He was using the method of the time series analysis he had created himself. It allows the researcher to evaluate with an independent method the expansion velocity of the Universe (according to J. Pelt Ho=68 km/s/Mps).
