Annual special events

Annual special events and programmes for the whole family take place throughout the year in the University of Tartu Museum.

Each year on May 1, the Crazy Scientist celebrates his birthday with a fun and eventful family day. Both children and adults are invited to take part in the celebration.

In the middle of May, the European Night of the Museums takes place and the University of Tartu Museum invites everyone to discover the diverse museum world by night.

In July every year, the University of Tartu Museums organises Science Town as part of Tartu Hanseatic Days. Science Town aims to promote science through discoveries and inventions as well as the future of innovative solutions.

During the Researcher's Night, which takes place at the end of September, the Museum offers a versatile programme with appearances from researchers from different disciplines. Guided tours, lectures and workshops introduce the profession of a researcher and their everyday lives.

In the middle of November, Academic Heritage Day is celebrated to commemorate the rich academic and scientific heritage of the University of Tartu and Estonian scientists.
